As the festive season approaches, organisers are making final preparations for the upcoming Beckenham Christmas Bonanza, which is set to be another fun-filled day for all the family.
The event, which takes place on Saturday, December 1, will feature live entertainment, funfair, local produce and craft market, Christmas Parade, Christmas Lights Switch On and the big community sing-a-long to end the day.
The Christmas Bonanza is being organised by the Copers Cope Area Residents’ Association working alongside the Beckenham Business Association (BBA) and the Beckenham Together BID.
There will be stories and fun in the Christmas Grotto Big Top and a post box for those special letters to Father Christmas at Beckenham Green.
The Christmas Market will open at 12.30pm with 35 stalls of local produce, hot food, mulled wine and beer on offer; a perfect chance to purchase gifts, essential produce and enjoy lunch.
The Beckenham Christmas Candlelit Parade will start from Croydon Road Recreation Ground at 4.30pm accompanied by the Drumming Band, children and their families from Baston House School, local supporting businesses and residents, Rotarians, Police, entertainers and of course Father Christmas and his elves.
Winding its way along the High Street to Beckenham Green volunteers from the local community will hand out beautiful candle (battery) lit lanterns. Once more BBA is proud to support MINDCare Dementia Beckenham with its collection.
Chloe Ross, chair of Copers Cope Area Residents’ Association, said: “A special thanks to all the local performers who will be taking part; it always makes the day incredibly special to have so many local singers, groups and of course amazing local school choirs.”
