To mark Road Safety Week earlier this month, Specsavers Beckenham donated more than 50 high-visibility jackets to a Greenwich school.
Middle Park Primary School in Greenwich has been a benefactor of this Road Safety Week campaign, with their Year 6 pupils receiving high viz jackets for use on school trips, walking and commuting to school and any school related outings.
Premal Patel, Specsavers Beckenham optometrist director, said: “We are delighted to be able to support Middle Park Primary School and to assist with increasing the visibility of the Year 6 pupils whilst out on school related trips, particularly over the winter period when the light is much poorer and visibility is therefore reduced.”
Susan Fenn, PSHE coordinator at Middle Park Primary School, added: “We are delighted to receive the donation of 52 high viz jackets from Specsavers Beckenham. This is incredibly helpful, as it ensures the children stand out more when they are actively travelling to school, especially during the darker mornings and evenings, where drivers may be challenged by the glare of other vehicles and lower light levels.
