A Beckenham boys’ school is celebrating after receiving a prestigious international award.
Langley Park School for Boys recently received the World Class School Quality Mark, an award presented to a very select number of schools across the globe. The award is unique in that it assesses the students rather than the school itself.
In the UK a school must have received ‘Outstanding’ in all categories by Ofsted and have a track record of excellent results as well as a rich variety of extra-curricular activities offering world class opportunities for their students.
Miranda Perry, director of World Class Schools, presented the award at the school and told them: “Your students are genuinely some of the very best in the country.”
Students presented a compelling case for accreditation through detailed auditing of their school’s capabilities, video submissions in support of their application, and participating in an assessment centre event, at which their performances were measured against a challenging international framework.
Headteacher, Steve Parsons, said: “We are extremely proud of our students, and of receiving this award in recognition of our success around educating the ‘whole child.’ We look forward to working with other World Class Schools to share ideas and develop even further the opportunities for students here at Langley Boys.”
The award is supported by a range of businesses, further and higher education providers, and parent organisations that are interested in which schools nationally are the best at developing young people to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.
